In 2016 visitors will be able to purchase a selection of fine teas, aromatic coffee and scones with cream, compliments of "Constance" the Jersey cow and homemade jam.
In the sheltered courtyard of this immaculately restored historic house which was built in 1868, Barbara and Michael Church have established a formal vegetable garden which provides visitors with an exciting visual and mouth-watering experience.
Always willing to compare notes and share her knowledge, she uses the best seed and then allows some of the crop to go to seed which she collects for the following season.

TEA AND SCONES: Visitors to Donkerhoek during the Bedford Garden Festival enjoyed fine teas and the most magnificent scones with home-made jam.
MOUTHWATERING: Oh boy, the mere thought of those delicious scones with cream and jam really gets my juices pumping. Can't wait to get stuck in again this year.
