BEAUTIFUL HOMESTEAD: The stately family home of the Barrie and Alex Pringle at Eildon, 47,6 kms from the Bedford War Memorial. Hours of tender loving care have been put into the garden and the results are there for all to see.

ORIGINAL FARMSTEAD: The original farmstead at Eildon. This building now serves as a hunting lodge and is situated a short distance away from the main house.

THOMAS PRINGLE'S HUT: An artist's impression of the original hut built by Thomas Pringle when he first arrived at Eildon, before the homestead was constructed.

ROSE GARDEN: Right at the bottom of the garden is Barrie's pride and joy - the rose garden. The magnificent display of roses is a sight not to be missed.

EARLY PHOTO: The present building and garden shortly after it was built. The gables and window in the roof were added at a later stage during the wool boom years.

WONDERFUL SETTING: Eildon as it looks today with its altered front facade, so typical of the alterations done in the 1920s.

RED WINE, RED ROSES: What could be more appealing - a lovely glass of mature South African red wine sipped amongst red roses - and a few other colours as well.

DOLL'S HOUSE: Many years ago Alex built this doll's house for his daughters. Now his daughters bring their daughters to play there.

RED & PINK: Roses of all colours spring up all over the wonderful Eildon garden.

FRUIT TREES: Barrie has planted a variety of fruit trees to complement the flowers in the garden. Still early days but prospects are looking good.

BUSHMAN PAINTINGS: Alex Pringle holds a reproduction of a Thomas Baines painting in front of the cliff, not far from Eildon,on which they were originally painted. The artwork shows how vivid the Bushman paintings were originally but because of floods and human interference they are barely visible today.

FRUIT TREES 2: A year later and the fruit trees Barrie planted are doing incredibly well.

ENTERTAINING: Barrie (top, with light slax) and Alex Pringle (bottom, facing camera) chat with visitors in their garden at Eildon.
